Clark Lindsey lets us know about Marcus Lindroos' archive about "future launch vehicle" designs that arose between 1963 and 1993 (the intro says through 2001, so I assume there is more to come). Here are the top-level categories:

I haven't looked through the site much, but it should be a good resource. The intro page provides a convenient slide-format presentation of the material on the site. On the down side, the images aren't appearing for me in-line so causal navigation is cumbersome.
I foresee a new section on the one and future Ares line of vehicles. Other than the Ares 1-X, these may forever be stuck in the 'future' category.

but then I'm not a UFO researcher immersed in searching out documents or with an employment history with government agencies -- but I do think that the intentional release of information, coded within the easy to swallow medium of movies, television, stories, and so on, is the disclosure so many are demanding from government.On the other hand, read Nick Redfern's Final Events and the Secret Government Group on Demonic UFOs which offers a different take on things... including an answer to what UFOs and aliens (at least some of them) are. I'm just about finished with the book and will write more about it when I'm through. I will say it's highly exciting and intriguing.

Free Energy denial is the claim that the Free Energy Applications and the Free Energy Suppression of Humanity during the 19th, 20th and 21st Century -usually referred to as the Free Energy Conspiracy of the New World Order-did not occur at all, or in the manner or to the extent as historically and contemporarily recognized.Key elements of this claim are the rejection of any of the following: that the Nation State Governments had a policy of deliberately excluding patents for productive free energy machinery; such that over six billion Humans [Homosapien sp.] were to be systematically killed or culled in a state of depletion according to United Nations documentation on `useless eaters' etc by the Reptilians and their allies, the Greys; and that Free Energy Applications were globally suppressed by both covert and overt means in various designated geographic zones using various social and military tools of suppression, such as; harassment, grievous assault and murder of inventors, falsified peer review, social and economic exclusion e.g. job and contract loss, media ridicule, adherence to known false and erroneous scientific models, etc.Further there is a long standing denial of the alien colonial program and its assimilation and replacement of the Human population e.g. [Mack, Jacobs, Hopkins] which appears to give the motive for thwarting infinite supplies of energy, food and wealth to the human population. They must be telling the truth.'"Unreasonable burden of proofFree Energy denial is widely viewed as unreasonable because it fails to adhere to rules for the treatment of evidence, rules that are recognized as basic to rational inquiry.To support a proposition or allegation, a claimant must offer evidence. The merits of this evidence, and the conclusion it can support, will depend on its nature; for example, hearsay would not normally be considered good evidence, but an expert eyewitness account of a technical demonstration would be. A second-hand story would not, but an official, expert, dated and signed document or digitally signed and stamped digital media testifying to the alleged incident would be. The burden of proof then shifts to the interlocutor, and the standard of proof will be commensurate with the surety with which the original claim was established. The interlocutor cannot simply continue demanding more proof to answer any conceivable skeptical conjecture or hypothetical possibility he can invent to challenge the claimant; this raises the claimant's burden of proof to an unreasonable level.In the case of the Free Energy inventors and experts, their digital and other records and science and technology may collectively be considered the claimants. It is unreasonable to ask the claimants to prove that their evidence is "really real" any more than they already have, unless there is some particular demonstrably credible reason for thinking that it is suspect. They would have to prove, at least with a balance of probabilities, that the greater part of the entire body of evidence attesting to Free Energy Suppression has been fabricated, misrepresented, or misconstrued by thousands of critical evaluators. Until they can do that, they have not satisfied the rules for the treatment of evidence recognized to be integral to reason. A big thank you to Cindy PDX who sent me the links to this story out of Albany, Oregon. A couple saw two "bullet shaped" UFOs that separated, and an orange orb appear very close to their property that gave off sparks.Sounds similar in many ways to what I saw here in Oregon many years ago, though it didn't give off sparks.
A few people in this area have also seen things like this through the years. And a source I have has told me the that the Camp Creek area in the Springfield region (the town over from Eugene) has a history of orange orbs. Sali Sheppard-Wolford, author of Valley of the Skookum, writes of orange orbs in Oregon and Washington.
What's as interesting to me as the story are some of the comments left by readers. Some readers have had similar experiences through the years. Yet others find the story not real news and pointless.
Referring to NUFORC's suggestion to the witness to contact the media about the sighting, a poster calling himself "What" comments:
"And obviously she followed up on the suggestion to contact the media. D-H, is this really newsworthy?"
Well, yes, it is "newsworthy" -- strange objects, orbs emitting sparks on your property. The question isn't if it's newsworthy -- it's: "Why do you think it isn't?"
Another poster going by "ChadT" remarks:
"Come on Democrat Herald.. front page news? You could not find a better story than this? Do a story on a local teacher going out of their way to influence our kids.. or a local war hero.. or why the most unemployed county in the state fights big employers that might be coming here.. jeez "
I don't get this type of "logic." If I write about scrambled eggs, does that mean I don't care about war, poverty, children's issues, or if Sonny and Carly are going to get back together on General Hospital?
Okay, not the best example. But this kind of ho hum, why are you boring us routine from those who don't even bother to debunk or scoff; they respond with a big yawn and ignore the weird lights and orbs over their heads... I don't get it.
I find this reaction -- or non-reaction-- particularly odd in these post 9/11 days. Homeland Security, terror alerts and scales; if there are weird things flying over your property, wouldn't you be concerned? Interested, at least? The conclusion these UFOs are ET is an assumption, and some may go there right away, but not everyone, including me. Man made, military, or even, if it turns out, a hoax or someone's remote controlled toy. Fine. Until one knows however, to display such indifference borders on the pathological.

Dear Citizen Hearing on Disclosure Committee Members,
I am Richard O'Connor, M.D. I am a U.S. citizen and have worked as a physician (anesthesiologist) in Helena, MT, for 25 years. I present this letter to you as a character witness on behalf of Dr. Jesse A. Marcel, Jr. whose testimony you will hear during this "Citizen Hearing on Disclosure". Dr. Marcel has not asked me to write this letter, yet I felt it important that I do so. It is important that you be made fully aware of the outstanding qualities of this man who has been courageously telling the world, now for many decades, the truth about the UFO event that occurred near Roswell, New Mexico in July of 1947. This was an event which has profoundly affected Dr. Marcel and his entire family ever since.
Like all of the first-hand Roswell witnesses, Dr. Marcel is getting up in years and his health is not what it once was. Because Dr. Marcel has lost proprioception in his legs, he is sometimes unsteady on his feet and can have difficulty walking. I decided to accompany Dr. Marcel to these hearings that I might be of help to him in getting around more safely. It then occurred to me that, at the same time, I could and should hand-deliver this statement to each one of you which I hope will help to convince you that the testimony that you will hear from Dr. Marcel can, in my informed opinion, be trusted beyond any shadow of doubt.
I have known Dr. Marcel for 25 years. Dr. Marcel was a member of St. Peter's Hospital medical staff when I arrived in Helena to begin my career as an ABA certified anesthesiologist in July of 1988. It was then that I had the pleasure of becoming professionally acquainted with Dr. Marcel while working directly with him in the operating rooms of St. Peter's. In this setting I worked with Dr. Marcel for about 10 years before he closed his ENT practice and went to work at the Helena V.A. Hospital where he provided ENT care to our nation's ailing military veterans. This was all prior to Dr. Marcel's decision to volunteer to serve as a flight surgeon over two consecutive tours of active duty in Iraq with the U.S. Army National Guard. Dr. Marcel is a genuine American patriot.
I have on many occasions personally observed Dr. Marcel's work as a physician/surgeon, his relationships with other members of the medical staff, and his relationships with his patients, with St. Peter's Hospital nursing staff, with his friends, and with members of his own family. My observations of Dr. Marcel's character have, in every instance, been only of those befitting an insightful human being who has always acted within the highest professional standards of ethics, conduct, and judgment.
I have never known Dr. Marcel to speak anything but truth in each and every situation that I have been involved in as a participant or as an observer. Knowing Dr. Marcel to be as humble and impeccably honest as I do, I can and do vouch for the fact that when Dr. Marcel tells us that his father, Major Jesse A. Marcel Sr., brought to their home in Roswell the debris which he determined were from a non-manmade, extraterrestrial spacecraft then that has to be, in fact, exactly what happened. Because of my absolute confidence in Dr. Marcel's character, I have zero doubt that an extraterrestrial spacecraft was recovered by the U.S. Army in 1947. You can be certain that any history of that event which contradicts Dr. Marcel's account, and which you may have heard in the past, is the lie. Over many decades, Dr. Marcel's story regarding the Roswell event has remained entirely consistent and has never changed. My best advice is that you take Dr. Marcel's testimony to heart, and then contemplate for yourself the myriad and very important implications of just what his testimony will mean to human civilization. Over the past 6 decades a cover-up of this "new" reality has been effectively managed through denial, ridicule, and deliberate obfuscation, but now we are extended a rare and unique opportunity to set the record straight.
It is almost unthinkable that the truth of the discovery that "we are not alone" has been deliberately and mendaciously obfuscated for reasons at which we can only guess. However, given Dr. Marcel's testimony, and that of the other witnesses present at this hearing, there is no question that this has been the mission of a group who long ago took control of this information. Now that we are informed of the truth by these witnesses, just what each of us chooses to do with the information that we learn through this hearing will be up to each one of us.
What I have chosen to do is to establish the Jesse A. Marcel Library, located in Helena, MT, which was opened to the public in May 2012. This library was established in order to provide educational materials; books, manuscripts, and audio-visual media, which will help my fellow citizens become more informed about what we think we know regarding the UFO phenomenon and the extraterrestrial visitors who have been, and continue to be, interacting with this planet. The library was also established to serve as a "safe haven" where people who need to share their personal experiences with this ongoing UFO phenomenon may do so in a setting which is entirely free from denial and ridicule. Lastly, it was established to honor and memorialize the names of these two men (among many others) who have both courageously attempted, with the help of all of those who have come to testify at this hearing, to tell the world the truth about extraterrestrial visitors to this planet. Last summer, 108 of my fellow citizens came to the Jesse A. Marcel Library. In anticipation of even greater numbers of visitors over the coming summer, I have recently tripled the available parking area. The Jesse A. Marcel Library is truly an example of "if you build it, they will come".
Many U.S. citizens, and indeed many citizens of other nations, either know or strongly suspect that they have been deliberately misled from the truth about the UFO phenomenon. Long ago and in the midst of the cold-war some necessarily hasty decisions were made about how to manage this new information. For better or for worse, a path was chosen that would methodically exclude not only our own nation's, but in fact all of our world's citizens, from knowing the truth about extraterrestrial visitation to this planet. That path has now come to a crossroads with Truth. Everyone testifying at this Citizen Hearing on Disclosure knows this, those who have been in charge of managing the known facts about this phenomenon know this, and, make no mistake; those groups of extraterrestrial beings who are coming here know this as well. We can be certain that these visitors have learned a great deal about "human nature" through their repeated observations of our failure to deal with the reality of their existence in our skies in an honest and straightforward manner. Let us, as a result of this hearing, finally demonstrate to these visitors that human beings are a resilient species capable of absorbing and then thriving in this new reality. Contact with other evolved and intelligent species can, if we will allow it, serve as the catalyst which will help to unite our global civilization and will help to raise the bar of human understanding.
The testimony of Dr. Marcel, his father, and the other witnesses who present their evidence at this hearing regarding the true nature of the 1947 Roswell UFO event belies any of the bogus accounts which have been proffered over the years by our nation's military. Edward U. Condon's deliberate obfuscation of Project Blue Book's true findings is, in my opinion, a black mark on the University of Colorado which remains to this day. It is a fact that honesty is a key ingredient of all healthy and lasting human relationships. This is true for friendship, it is true for marriage, and it is also true for the relationship between a nation's government and its citizens. Our nation's poorly considered "official UFO policy" of denial, ridicule, and obfuscation was too hastily established within only hours of the actual Roswell event, yet it started our nation down a dark path, a path that has evolved into a road to perdition. A great democracy cannot deliberately mislead its citizens about something as important as this and continue to long endure. Those who have control over this information have already waited too long to speak the truth, and yet the truth must eventually be officially spoken. Listen to Dr. Marcel's testimony and know that this man speaks that Truth.
Thank you for your decision to participate in these very important Citizen Hearing on UFO Disclosure. It is my sincere hope that the testimony you hear will alert you, as it has me, to the reality that there is indeed a genuine UFO phenomenon going on in our skies. Much valuable time to research and understand this phenomenon has been squandered through misguided efforts to divert mankind's attention away from this phenomenon, and to render it taboo to free and open discussion. It is now time for a call to action, action which will place the serious study of this phenomenon squarely in the sights of humanity's most brilliant, forward-thinking, and well-funded scientists.
In the words of the late Arizona State University professor of atmospheric physics Dr. James E. McDonald, I also believe that the "least objectionable hypothesis" which serves to explain the UFO evidence you will hear at this Citizen Hearing on Disclosure is, in fact, "an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race". It is time that we take the initiative toward making open and peaceful Contact with these obviously intelligent beings. We may then determine who (or what) they are, what their agenda is, and what we might learn from them that may prove to be of indispensible value to our continuing project of human civilization and for our better stewardship of planet Earth. I ask each of the members of the Committee presiding over this hearing to do whatever is in your power to help bring the denial and ridicule of the UFO to an end, and to help us open the door to developing a peaceful, diplomatic relationship with these obviously highly intelligent and technologically advanced beings from other worlds.

The year gone by brought us more robots, worries about artificial intelligence, and difficult lessons on space travel. The big question: where's it all taking us?
Every year, we capture a little bit more of the future -- and yet the future insists on staying ever out of reach.
Consider space travel. Humans have been traveling beyond the atmosphere for more than 50 years now -- but aside from a few overnights on the moon four decades ago, we have yet to venture beyond low Earth orbit.
Or robots. They help build our cars and clean our kitchen floors, but no one would mistake a Kuka or a Roomba for the replicants in "Blade Runner." Siri, Cortana and Alexa, meanwhile, are bringing some personality to the gadgets in our pockets and our houses. Still, that's a long way from HAL or that lad David from the movie "A.I. Artificial Intelligence."
Self-driving cars? Still in low gear, and carrying some bureaucratic baggage that prevents them from ditching certain technology of yesteryear, like steering wheels.
And even when these sci-fi things arrive, will we embrace them? A Pew study earlier this year found that Americans are decidedly undecided. Among the poll respondents, 48 percent said they would like to take a ride in a driverless car, but 50 percent would not. And only 3 percent said they would like to own one.
"Despite their general optimism about the long-term impact of technological change," Aaron Smith of the Pew Research Center wrote in the report, "Americans express significant reservations about some of these potentially short-term developments" such as US airspace being opened to personal drones, robot caregivers for the elderly or wearable or implantable computing devices that would feed them information.
Let's take a look at how much of the future we grasped in 2014 and what we could gain in 2015.
SPACE TRAVEL: 'SPACE FLIGHT IS HARD'
In 2014, earthlings scored an unprecedented achievement in space exploration when the European Space Agency landed a spacecraft on a speeding comet, with the potential to learn more about the origins of life. No, Bruce Willis wasn't aboard. Nobody was. But when the 220-pound Philae lander, carried to its destination by the Rosetta orbiter, touched down on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko on November 12, some 300 million miles from Earth, the celebration was well-earned.
A shadow quickly fell on the jubilation, however. Philae could not stick its first landing, bouncing into a darker corner of the comet where its solar panels would not receive enough sunlight to charge the lander's batteries. After two days and just a handful of initial readings sent home, it shut down. For good? Backers have allowed for a ray of hope as the comet passes closer to the sun in 2015. "I think within the team there is no doubt that [Philae] will wake up," lead lander scientist Jean-Pierre Bibring said in December. "And the question is OK, in what shape? My suspicion is we'll be in good shape."
The trip for NASA's New Horizons spacecraft has been much longer: 3 billion miles, all the way to Pluto and the edge of the solar system. Almost nine years after it left Earth, New Horizons in early December came out of hibernation to begin its mission: to explore "a new class of planets we've never seen, in a place we've never been before," said project scientist Hal Weaver. In January, it will begin taking photos and readings of Pluto, and by mid-July, when it swoops closest to Pluto, it will have sent back detailed information about the dwarf planet and its moon, en route to even deeper space.
Also in December, NASA made a first test spaceflight of its Orion capsule on a quick morning jaunt out and back, to just over 3,600 miles above Earth (or approximately 15 times higher than the International Space Station). The distance was trivial compared to those those traveled by Rosetta and New Horizons, and crewed missions won't begin till 2021, but the ambitions are great -- in the 2030s, Orion is expected to carry humans to Mars.
In late March 2015, two humans will head to the ISS to take up residence for a full year, in what would be a record sleepover in orbit. "If a mission to Mars is going to take a three-year round trip," said NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, who will be joined in the effort by Russia's Mikhail Kornienko, "we need to know better how our body and our physiology performs over durations longer than what we've previously on the space station investigated, which is six months."
There were more sobering moments, too, in 2014. In October, Virgin Galactic's sleek, experimental SpaceShipTwo, designed to carry deep-pocketed tourists into space, crashed in the Mojave Desert during a test flight, killing one test pilot and injuring the other. Virgin founder Richard Branson had hoped his vessel would make its first commercial flight by the end of this year or in early 2015, and what comes next remains to be seen. Branson, though, expressed optimism: "Space flight is hard -- but worth it," he said in a blog post shortly after the crash, and in a press conference, he vowed "We'll learn from this, and move forward together." Virgin Galactic could begin testing its next spaceship as soon as early 2015.
The crash of SpaceShipTwo came just a few days after the explosion of an Orbital Sciences rocket lofting an unmanned spacecraft with supplies bound for the International Space Station. And in July, Elon Musk's SpaceX had suffered the loss of one of its Falcon 9 rockets during a test flight. Musk intoned, via Twitter, that "rockets are tricky..."
Still, it was on the whole a good year for SpaceX. In May, it unveiled its first manned spacecraft, the Dragon V2, intended for trips to and from the space station, and in September, it won a 2.6 billion contract from NASA to become one of the first private companies (the other being Boeing) to ferry astronauts to the ISS, beginning as early as 2017. Oh, and SpaceX also has plans to launch microsatellites to establish low-cost Internet service around the globe, saying in November to expect an announcement about that in two to three months -- that is, early in 2015.
One more thing to watch for next year: another launch of the super-secret X-37B space place to do whatever it does during its marathon trips into orbit. The third spaceflight of an X-37B -- a robotic vehicle that, at 29 feet in length, looks like a miniature space shuttle -- ended in October after an astonishing 22 months circling the Earth, conducting "on-orbit experiments."
SELF-DRIVING CARS: ASLEEP AT WHAT WHEEL?
Spacecraft aren't the only vehicles capable of autonomous travel -- increasingly, cars are, too. Automakers are toiling toward self-driving cars, and Elon Musk -- whose name comes up again and again when we talk about the near horizon for sci-fi tech -- says we're less than a decade away from capturing that aspect of the future. In October, speaking in his guise as founder of Tesla Motors, Musk said: "Like maybe five or six years from now I think we'll be able to achieve true autonomous driving where you could literally get in the car, go to sleep and wake up at your destination." (He also allowed that we should tack on a few years after that before government regulators give that technology their blessing.)
Prototype, unbound: Google's ride of the future, as it looks today Google That comment came as Musk unveiled a new autopilot feature -- characterizing it as a sort of super cruise control, rather than actual autonomy -- for Tesla's existing line of electric cars. Every Model S manufactured since late September includes new sensor hardware to enable those autopilot capabilities (such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and automated parking), to be followed by an over-the-air software update to enable those features.
Google has long been working on its own robo-cars, and until this year, that meant taking existing models -- a Prius here, a Lexus there -- and buckling on extraneous gear. Then in May, the tech titan took the wraps off a completely new prototype that it had built from scratch. (In December, it showed off the first fully functional prototype.) It looked rather like a cartoon car, but the real news was that there was no steering wheel, gas pedal or brake pedal -- no need for human controls when software and sensors are there to do the work.
Or not so fast. In August, California's Department of Motor Vehicles declared that Google's test vehicles will need those manual controls after all -- for safety's sake. The company agreed to comply with the state's rules, which went into effect in September, when it began testing the cars on private roads in October.
Regardless of who's making your future robo-car, the vehicle is going to have to be not just smart, but actually thoughtful. It's not enough for the car to know how far it is from nearby cars or what the road conditions are. The machine may well have to make no-win decisions, just as human drivers sometimes do in instantaneous, life-and-death emergencies. "The car is calculating a lot of consequences of its actions," Chris Gerdes, an associate professor of mechanical engineering, said at the Web Summit conference in Dublin, Ireland, in November. "Should it hit the person without a helmet? The larger car or the smaller car?"
ROBOTS: LEGGING IT OUT
So when do the robots finally become our overlords? Probably not in 2015, but there's sure to be more hand-wringing about both the machines and the artificial intelligence that could -- someday -- make them a match for homo sapiens. At the moment, the threat seems more mundane: when do we lose our jobs to a robot?
The inquisitive folks at Pew took that very topic to nearly 1,900 experts, including Vint Cerf, vice president at Google; Web guru Tim Bray; Justin Reich of Harvard University's Berkman Center for Internet and Jonathan Grudin, principal researcher at Microsoft. According to the resulting report, published in August, the group was almost evenly split -- 48 percent thought it likely that, by 2025, robots and digital agents will have displaced significant numbers of blue- and white-collar workers, perhaps even to the point of breakdowns in the social order, while 52 percent "have faith that human ingenuity will create new jobs, industries, and ways to make a living, just as it has been doing since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution."
Still, for all of the startling skills that robots have acquired so far, they're often not all there yet. Here's some of what we saw from the robot world in 2014:
TEAMWORK: Researchers at the 'Ecole Polytechnique F'ed'erale De Lausanne in May showed off their "Roombots," cog-like robotic balls that can join forces to, say, help a table move across a room or change its height.
A SENSE OF BALANCE: We don't know if Boston Dynamics' humanoid Atlas is ready to trim bonsai trees, but it has learned this much from "The Karate Kid" (the original from the 1980s) -- it can stand on cinder blocks and hold its balance in a crane stance while moving its arms up and down.
CATLIKE JUMPS: MIT's cheetah-bot gets higher marks for locomotion. Fed a new algorithm, it can run across a lawn and bound like a cat. And quietly, too. "Our robot can be silent and as efficient as animals. The only things you hear are the feet hitting the ground," MIT's Sangbae Kim, a professor of mechanical engineering, told MIT News. "This is kind of a new paradigm where we're controlling force in a highly dynamic situation. Any legged robot should be able to do this in the future."
SIGN LANGUAGE: Toshiba's humanoid Aiko Chihira communicated in Japanese sign language at the CEATEC show in October. Her rudimentary skills, limited for the moment to simple messages such as signed greetings, are expected to blossom by 2020 into areas such as speech synthesis and speech recognition.
DANCE SKILLS: Robotic pole dancers? Tobit Software brought a pair, controllable by an Android smartphone, to the Cebit trade show in Germany in March. More lifelike was the animatronic sculpture at a gallery in New York that same month -- but what was up with that witch mask?
EMOTIONAL AMBITION: Eventually, we'll all have humanoid companions -- at least, that's always been one school of thought on our robotic future. One early candidate for that honor could be Pepper, from Softbank and Aldebaran Robotics, which say the 4-foot-tall Pepper is the first robot to read emotions. This emo-bot is expected to go on sale in Japan in February.
RAY GUNS: SHIP SHAPE
Damn the photon torpedoes, and full speed ahead. That could be the motto for the US Navy, which in 2014 deployed a prototype laser weapon -- just one -- aboard a vessel in the Persian Gulf. Through some three months of testing, the device "locked on and destroyed the targets we designated with near-instantaneous lethality," Rear Adm. Matthew L. Klunder, chief of naval research, said in a statement. Those targets were rather modest -- small objects mounted aboard a speeding small boat, a diminutive Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle, and so on -- but the point was made: the laser weapon, operated by a controller like those used for video games, held up well, even in adverse conditions.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: DANGER, WILL ROBINSON?
What happens when robots and other smart machines can not only do, but also think? Will they appreciate us for all our quirky human high and low points, and learn to live with us? Or do they take a hard look at a species that's run its course and either turn us into natural resources, "Matrix"-style, or rain down destruction?
When the machines take over, will they be packing laser weapons like this one the US Navy just tried out? John F. Williams/US Navy As we look ahead to the reboot of the "Terminator" film franchise in 2015, we can't help but recall some of the dire thoughts about artificial intelligence from two people high in the tech pantheon, the very busy Musk and the theoretically inclined Stephen Hawking.
Musk himself more than once in 2014 invoked the likes of the "Terminator" movies and the "scary outcomes" that make them such thrilling popcorn fare. Except that he sees a potentially scary reality evolving. In an interview with CNBC in June, he spoke of his investment in AI-minded companies like Vicarious and Deep Mind, saying: "I like to just keep an eye on what's going on with artificial intelligence. I think there is potentially a dangerous outcome."
He has put his anxieties into some particularly colorful phrases. In August, for instance, Musk tweeted that AI is "potentially more dangerous than nukes." And in October, he said this at a symposium at MIT: "With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon.... You know all those stories where there's the guy with the pentagram and the holy water and he's like... yeah, he's sure he can control the demon, [but] it doesn't work out."
Musk has a kindred spirit in Stephen Hawking. The physicist allowed in May that AI could be the "biggest event in human history," and not necessarily in a good way. A month later, he was telling John Oliver, on HBO's "Last Week Tonight," that "artificial intelligence could be a real danger in the not too distant future." How so? "It could design improvements to itself and outsmart us all."
But Google's Eric Schmidt, is having none of that pessimism. At a summit on innovation in December, the executive chairman of the far-thinking tech titan -- which in October teamed up with Oxford University to speed up research on artificial intelligence -- said that while our worries may be natural, "they're also misguided."

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Last night I was sitting on my deck enjoying a midnight snack, strawberry and chocolate with my lover. When I looked up, I saw this object flying through the sky. I didn't know what it was at first, so I jumped up and grabbed my camera and took some pictures. Then my hubby realized what it really was, a UFO. It was circular and had blue lights. I couldn't believe it.
