UFO SIGHTING IN EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA ON NOVEMBER 13TH 2011 - BRIGHT LIGHT(S) FLASH THEN DISAPPEAR AND EVENTUALLY FLIES OFF TO OUTERSPACEI was standing in the alleyway behind a pizza shop talking to my friend on the phone about spiritual transcendence in the 8 o clock hour in Emeryville, California..where it is usually very bright being in the middle of Berkeley and Oakland. I was staring off to the South direction and saw this bright light very far away 'shoot off' in a curved path..kind of like a hill path/swivel moving from the South to the West. Moving in this path, it disappears. This was very quick-only a matter of seconds. I decided to not think too much of it(because the OAK airport was in that direction) even though it gave me a weird feeling. So about 15 minutes later im starting due East and above the building I saw the same bright light again and same distance away(very far) flash and shoot straight up and dissappear again. At that point I'd known it was strange. I continue to search the area while still on the phone with my friend speaking very excitedly about it. At 8:54 PM it reappears maybe 3 thumbs up from where it last appeared and then I watched it for maybe a minute or so move out of the Earth's atmosphere going South East from my vision. I did not see it again. I had the suspecting feeling it was not 3 different objects but 1 that kept moving. Former Airmen To Govt Come Clean On Ufos

The U.S. government's official line may be that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) don't pose a national security threat, but a group of former Air Force officers gathered Monday in the nation's capital to tell a different story. During a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., seven former Air Force officers once stationed at nuclear bases around the country said that not only have UFOs visited Air Force bases, some have succeeded in disabling nuclear missiles stationed there. "I want the government to acknowledge that this phenomenon exists," said Robert Salas, a former U.S. Air Force Nuclear Launch Officer. "I want the Air Force, the government to come forward and say this is a real phenomenon." But Salas said it's a "falsehood" that UFOs are not a national security threat and claims he speaks from firsthand experience. He was stationed 60 feet underground at the Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in March 1967, monitoring the launch control center for 10 nuclear missiles when he received a call from a guard above ground. Missiles Not Permanently Damaged by UFO, Airman Said "He calls down saying they've been seeing some strange lights in the sky making odd maneuvers, very silent, he knows they're not airplanes," he said. At first Salas didn't pay much attention to the report, he said. But then he received a second phone call. "He calls back about five minutes later and this time he's screaming into the phone. He's very frightened, I can tell by his voice," Salas said. UFO SIGHTING IN CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA ON AUGUST 23RD 2013 - LARGE, SHIMMERING, TRANSLUCENT SHAPE IN DAYLIGHT SKY OVER SOUTHERN ARIZONAAt approximately 6:15PM on August 23, 2013 my wife and I were traveling South along N 11 Mile Corner Road, just outside of Casa Grande, AZ. We were traveling at 55 - 60 mph and had just passed the intersection of N 11 Mile Corner Road and E. Kleck Rd. It was daylight and the sun was above the horizon and to our right (West). We were and remain unable to identify a large shape we saw moving through the sky at that time. Initially, I noticed a large shape to my 10 o'clock at 15 - 20 degrees off the horizon. It was about three quarters of a mile distant and was moving East to West, parallel to Highway 287 (about 1 mile away) and perpendicular to our direction of travel. I was about to dismiss the shape as a flock of birds until shimmering and/or reflected light caught my eye. I noted the shape undulated and flowed as would a flock of birds, but there were no birds visible in or around the shape. The shape was translucent with a diffuse edge. I could see sky through the shape. I commented to my wife, "What is that?" as I slowed the vehicle. My wife acknowledged seeing the shape and expressed curiosity as I continued to drive. She agreed this was not a flock of birds and was similarly unable to identify what we were seeing. We observed the shape for about 10 seconds before it descended slightly and disappeared behind some trees: Long enough to capture our interest but not long enough to get at the iPhone to document the event. The shape reappeared a second or two later and changed direction. We further observed the shape for less than 5 seconds before it seemingly blended into the background and disappeared. After initially sighting the shape, it passed behind a water tower located West of N 11 Mile Corner Road. The tower is about 60 feet in height. We were roughly a half mile from the tower as the shape passed behind it. The shape was roughly 3 times the height of the tower with a length to height ratio of about 4 to 1. An absolute size for the shape is difficult to estimate as the shape was some distance beyond the tower. The shape had no markings and appeared to be under its own power. The overall geometry was rectangular. It narrowed slightly at West end. Corners were poorly defined and slightly rounded. The shape appeared thin, almost ribbon-like. My wife remarked it resembled a transparent advertising banner that moved like a flock of birds as it reflected sunlight and shimmered. It lacked a tow plane or any notable form of propulsion. Within several seconds of passing behind the water tower the shape banked / rolled toward the ground and disappeared behind a growth of trees. It emerged several seconds later moving in a new direction - South. We lost sight within a few seconds of its reappearance as the it simply blended into the background. The shape appeared to be following a newly installed line of high tension power lines. The turn South corresponded to the location where the power lines turned South. The overall speed of the shape is in question. Given the distance to the shape and covered during the sighting, I estimate the speed to be between 60-100 mph. Comparatively, it was far faster than a flock of birds but a bit too slow for an aircraft. The observation was not a traditional UFO. It was unusual and unexpected. It was almost as if we were seeing a cloaked object from some science fiction movie. It shimmered and occasionally reflected light. It had an overall outline to it, albeit a poorly defined outline. You could see blue sky through the shape. It had no remarkable shape. The sighting happened quickly enough that there was no time to open and start the photo ap in the iPhone. BUT INSTEAD OF SWITCHING OFF THE DRILL NIKOLAY INCREASED ITS AIR PRESSURE IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE HOLE DEEPER. UFO SIGHTING IN VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA ON JULY 25TH 2013 - 3 GLOWING PEACHY ORANGE OVAL SHAPED UFO'S DECENDED QUICKLEY FROM THE SKY ABOVE MY HEAD AND FLEW TOGEHTER IN A INTERMINGLING FORMATION, TWO DISAPPEARED AND ONE HOVERED ABOVE MY HEAD AND DECENDED SLOWLEY DOWN IN AN ARCH AND ABOVE THE BUILDING BEHIND ME.

I was rollerblading in a tennis/basketball court in Granville Island Vancouver BC around 10:00 Pm, the lights went out and it was time for me to take off my roller blades. So I sat down on a bench and proceeded to take them off in the dark. A low flying plane caught my attention and I looked up also noticing an interesting looking star just above it, so I watched the star for between 5 and 10 minutes. As I was looking at the star A bright Orange light attracted my eyes off to the side and that's when I saw 3 illuminating objects intermingling together and around each other. Within a couple of seconds two UFO's disappeared leaving one on its own hovering what seemed to be as high as the low flying plane above me. It sat for a few seconds and then glided in a descending arch downward and over the building behind me with no sound. As the object was descending I perceived it to be larger than a plane (longer, wider, and thicker). It looked higher up than the plane to start with but descended to what I perceived to be closer than the plane and possibly just above the short building behind me. My perception of height and size may or may not be accurate due to my basic understanding of size and distance, but It looked close to me and large.

Sitting in the backyard with some friends. One of them said what are those lights in the sky? We all got up to look and all saw the same lights. Started with just two. Moved across from the East to northeast, then stopped forward motion, one headed more north then faded away, the other stayed in one spot then faded away. Another came across a little later, did the same thing. I went to grab a camera but couldn't focus on it. Went to grab a different camera from my car, saw another coming on the same path.Managed to video it but couldn't zoom enough. This was the last one we saw.

The floating duo approached the doctor's house silently. The antennae of each object then touched the other's and the two craft merged into one object. A blast of light emanated from the UFO that struck the doctor's face. A loud "bang" was heard and then the object dematerialized.

The physician woke his wife up and it was she who noted that the wound on his leg had completely healed. Over the next few days he noted that other injuries had disappeared as well. During the Algerian War he sustained a wound that left him weak on the right side. He was unable to stand on the right leg alone. When working for any length of time the right side of his body quickly fatigued. After his encounter as documented by medical examination, these injuries disappeared.

Six days after the event the famed French investigator Aime Michel evaluated the doctor and found him complaining of generalized weakness with abdominal cramps. In addition a strange triangular shaped area of red pigmentation appeared around his navel. Michel thought this might be psychosomatic. This notion was abandoned when the doctor's child developed the same red triangle around his navel.

In a two-year follow up period Aime Michel found that there were no return of the symptoms related to either the war injuries or the wood chopping incident. The triangular rash came and went on both son and father. In addition a dramatic change of beliefs took place in the doctor and his wife. This was documented by the testimony of friends and family.

"they seem to have acquired an almost mystical acceptance of the events of life and death, which is puzzling to those who had known them previously," p 24.

For the doctor and his family events of high strangeness also recurred periodically. Valle labeled them as "paranormal." They included telepathy, one incident of levitation that the doctor reportedly could not control as well as electromagnetic effects involving the malfunctioning of clocks and electrical circuits. These occurrences defied prosaic explanations.

Reading Notes Valles Ufo Chronicles Of The Soviet Union

I found a lesser known book from Jacques Vall'ee, "UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union: A cosmic samizdat". (New York: Ballantine, 1992). It was one of his last books before he decided to quit ufology in the mid-1990s (and he does not hide his bitterness towards ETH ufology in the book). It is a relatively short book, 212 pages, written out of a quick visit he made in the then Soviet Union in January 1990, only two years before the coup in Moscow that lead to the end of the Soviet Union. It was, therefore, during the most open period of that regime's history. During his stay, which was arranged through the Novosti press agency, he met the most prominent scientists in the Soviet Union who studied UFOs. Again, this was possible mainly because it was during the Glasnot years of the Gorbatchov era, and because of Vall'ee's reputation as a credible ufologist. Most of the book is about comparing details of observations made in the Soviet Union to ones in the West. Below are the most salient features.

SIMILARITIES IN FINDINGS

The main finding by Vall'ee is that, indeed, the data emerging from the Soviet Union are similar to the ones in the West. The USSR experienced at least three major UFO waves: in 1966-67, between 1977 and 1979, and 1989. The Soviet government established research committees to study the question after the beginning of the second wave in 1976, and they were not able to explain the phenomenon after 10 years of research. In the end, it was officially stated that all UFO could be explained by mistakes, unusual natural phenomena, or hoaxes. However, the scientists who persevered in studying UFOs (at their own risk) did not jump to the ETH conclusion.

Sightings were varying from bright spheres to what appears to be manufactured crafts. Humanoids, like in the West, were of many different shapes and forms, however, they often tended to be taller that humans (the famous Grays of the West are actually only one type among hundreds reported in the West - ufoinfo.com has an extensive database of CE3 reports and one can see how much variety there is). Altered states of consciousness were noted in many reports. I am wondering if tall people have a particular symbolic meaning in Russian culture (Vall'ee did not discussed it).

Another key finding was also matching a finding that Vall'ee had to repeat to Western ufologists over and over (without being heard) that UFOs tend to be polymorphous. UFOs tend to change shape and form during a same event (this one of Vall'ee's main arguments against the ETH). The Soviets found that 75% of sightings involve a shape change, and they identified 149 types of change or shape transition.

Another interesting point they found is about submarine UFOs following Soviet submarines. I do not know how plasma can fare in water, but this is intriguing.

PARAPSYCHOLOGY AND UFOS

Vall'ee observed that in the Soviet Union, scientists were more willing to entertain the idea that UFOs were somehow related to topics in parapsychological research. This was a major difference with the United States where the ETH was the only acceptable view in ufology (and still is nowadays). One of the main linkages was the use of "biolocation" or radiesthesia, which involves the "detection of hidden minerals, water, or living entities by paranormal means. Dowsers often use a pendulum, a rod, or a stick for such work" (p. 5). Through the book, Vall'ee is fascinated by this issue, and tries to get the Soviet scientists to explain to him why they give credence to such a technique, and why it is relevant to UFO research. He never really got his answer, except to say that according to Soviet scientists, when UFOs are landing, they leave a signature where "the bioenergy level is nil" (p. 44). In other words, UFOs appear to "suck-up" vital energy in CE2 and CE3. This is an interesting observation, although as Vall'ee noted, it is hard to figure out how they can make such evaluation with radiesthesia techniques.

What I found surprising, however, is how Vall'ee did not connect the dots. He was aware of some of the research done in parapsychology in the Soviet Union, as he mentions the book of Sheila Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder, "Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain" (New York: Bantam, 1970), which discusses at length the Soviet research in bioenergy fields, and about Kirlian photography. Furthermore, their book provides a drawing of a dowsing rod identical to the one Vall'ee provides on p. 88. Twenty additional years of research in bioenergy field (1970 to 1990) might have yield some interesting results, or at very least it is long enough to create a matter-of-factness about it that would explain the attitude of the Soviet scientists. Then, we know now that Vall'ee was somewhat involved with the military remote-viewing programme at the SRI (and he refers to the remote-viewing project on p. 9). He surely figured out that bioenergy fields research in the Soviet Union was similarly funded by intelligence and military agencies, and that his hosts could not speak more.

In any event, this adds some more material to connect the biological ontological level with other levels of reality. Particularly, could it be that social psi and bioenergy fields influence each other? This could be an entry point for those interested in the Gaia hypothesis.

OTHER LINKAGES

Vall'ee mentions on p. 77 that,"During the cold war the Kremlin regarded such observations [UFO reports] as a psychological warfare ploy master-minded by the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency. Soviet officials thought that such "hysterical" rumors were deliberately planted to create unhealthy agitation and fear among socialist countries, taking the workers' attention away from productive pursuits."

In the light of Greg Bishop's "Project Beta", the Soviet assessment of the situation was quite accurate. Given that the Soviets were spying a lot on the US, their arch-rival, it appears reasonable to think that, indeed, they figured out the American ploy. This adds even more weight to the rejection of the Roswell-Majestic conundrum.

Vall'ee made another comment that I can only relate to parasociology, and to the study done by Martin Kottmeyer "UFO flaps", "The Anomalist" 3: 64-89, where he found a link between difficult social and political contexts and UFO waves. Vall'ee wrote in discussing the changes occurring in Gorbatchov's Soviet Union:

"Once again, history had overtaken ideology. An enormous vital change was sweeping half the planet, catching all the bureaucracies by surprise: they could take their briefing and shove it! Was the UFO wave of 1989 in the Soviet Union only a symptom, or was it a deep factor in the change? In either case, I now realized, it could not be separated from the historical events that carried it." (p. 25).

This is overall an easy read. The book is written mostly at the first person, and it reads like a novel. Although other texts have been written since about Soviet and Russian ufology, it is the only one which was written when the researchers were still working for the Soviet Union. Although they could not be open about certain classified projects (essentially in parapsychology), on the other hand they were not contaminated by the ETH and thus were quite candid about other aspects of their research (like biolocation). It is refreshing to see that, indeed, not all roads lead to the ETH.
