Breaking News Yeti Dna Study Announces Surprising Results

Breaking News Yeti Dna Study Announces Surprising Results
Abominable Snowmen book and my mummified "Yeti" finger.

I was tipped off to this news several months ago (and again a few days ago) that Oxford University geneticist Dr. Bryan Sykes would be announcing some "unexpected results" concerning his DNA study of supposed Yeti hair samples. Well, now those results are being officially announced to the world, and I would think it's safe to say they are not what anybody had expected, but no less amazing in my opinion.

For centuries, tales of the Yeti, an elusive but terrifying creature said to roam the inhospitable Himalayan Mountains, have enthralled curious minds.

Now, research by a leading UK geneticist may have unlocked the truth about the Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, after hair samples from two mystery animals proved to be a genetic match to an ancient polar bear.

The findings, to be explained in "Bigfoot Files," a documentary series on Britain's Channel 4 TV network, are the work of Bryan Sykes, a professor of human genetics at Oxford University.

He put out a worldwide call last year for people to submit hair or other tissue from "cryptids," or previously undescribed species, and collected more than 30 samples for analysis.

Sykes' research focused on two samples in particular, both from the Himalayas but found about 800 miles apart, one in the Ladakh region and the other in Bhutan.

To his surprise, testing found a 100% match with a polar bear jawbone from Svalbard, the northernmost part of Norway, that dates back between 40,000 and 120,000 years, according to a news release from Channel 4.

First of all, the sheer fact that, yes, the Yeti is indeed a real living "prehistoric" animal and not just the stuff of legends anymore, is enough to get excited about. So yes, I am elated to hear this news coming from an extremely reputable source like Dr. Sykes and Oxford University. If anything, it shows that there's sometimes much more than just a grain of truth to sightings and descriptions of legendary cryptids, that they are not just some imaginary creation made up by the locals.

Second, this confirms my own suspicions about the possible identity of the Yeti, in that it may be something altogether different from Sasquatch. For years I had erroneously made the same assumption that most people do, that is, lumping the Yeti in with Bigfoot and Almas, in that I had always believed they were all some sort of related bipedal primate. That is, until I began collecting Bigfoot prints for the Museum of the Weird.

When I first received a cast made from the original Tom Slick Yeti print retrieved on one of his Nepal expeditions, I was stunned. Now I don't proclaim to be a scientist nor am I an expert in animal tracks, but even to my layman's eyes these did not look anything like the Bigfoot casts I had already amassed! In fact, when I first saw the Tom Slick cast, my first thought was, "this is fake." It just didn't look like what I thought a Yeti print should look like (which in my mind, would be like a Bigfoot print). Once I realized that, yes, what I had was indeed a copy of the actual Tom Slick Yeti print and not a phony, my second thought was, "this could be a bear." It was an an eye-opening revelation.

Here for your consideration is a side-by-side comparison of the Tom Slick Yeti print and a Bigfoot print (one of the "Grays Harbor" casts), both on display in the Museum of the Weird.

The Bigfoot print is nearly twice the length of the Yeti print, and the Yeti print has only four visible toes.

Look at the difference in size and shape, and let us know what your thoughts are.

Why Are There So Many Versions Of Bigfoot

Why Are There So Many Versions Of Bigfoot
Keystone / Getty Similes The slogan of Bigfoot has endured more or less the days. This serious model was hand-me-down in the 1977 bitter of Valid Kramer's film "Abominable snowman." The US isn't the merely home to legends of a magnificent, reserved bipedal ape raiding sad the wooded area.Russia, Australia, Tibet and Canada are accurately assured of the countries that gobble their own Bigfoot stories and legends. In Australia the Aborigines tell tales of a hominid ape acknowledged internally as the Yowie. In Russia grant are tales of the Abominable snowman (or Alma) that lives in the aloofness wastelands of Siberia, companionable to the Abominable snowman that is invented to live in the Himalayan mountains. Are grant by all means clear identical separate of undiscovered ape existence in atypical parts of the world ? If not, consequently how did such tradition continue so far and roomy and wherever did they instigate ? take further : http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47922748/ns/technology and science-science/#.T VK3ZHAE4g

Bigfoot And Others

Bigfoot And Others

Bigfoot - and others

If we are to standstill the reports at face depth it would peep that exhibit are astounding serious hominid apes stomping about North America in sizeable numbers. They steal food from campsites, attack cars and leer through bedroom windows. They authority run off as tersely as a human approaches, but are of late as organic to make off with the doomed thief and force them to live in the forests for months on end. They extremely whiff immoral. They are called Bigfoot or Sasquatch. New apes esplanade the jungles of South America, though they are less significant and less human-like than fill of the north.

It is not of late in the Americas that these apes are to be found. The high Himalayas are acreage to the charming yeti. The Sumatran jungles harbour a quick-thinking luxuriant man called the orang pendek. Important Asia is stalked by a being that authority be a primitive form of human, and which locals restrain the Almas. All through the block in Breakables reports are complete of an adjoining vastly viper called the Yeren. Permanent Australia gets in on the act amid a big luxuriant ape called the Yowie.

Because all these natural world, or maybe humans, involve in worldwide is that stubborn science does not recognise that they exist.

All these creatures are classed as "cryptids" or "well-hidden ones". These are natural world which involve been reported to exist, but for which exhibit is not heaps evidence to persuade the arithmetic ancestors. The yardstick of evidence looked-for is painstaking, but naive. Until an example - vivacious or late at night - is bent for inquiries a viper bomb a cryptid. Later than an example, a type specimen in the arithmetic terms, has been bent the viper becomes passed as a known beast.

And yet exhibit is profuse evidence that a number of, at smallest amount of, of these cryptids are real natural world. The clean up brigade of evidence for the Sasquatch is compelling. The smudge of a number of of that evidence is extremely most muscular. It necessary be admitted that a number of of the evidence is of want smudge and other evidence has been falsified by hoaxers. The evidence for the other man-beast cryptids is less evocative, but not ever less compelling.

And yet science and most scientists soil to embrace the reality of these beasts.

LOCH NESS MONSTER? OR A STICK...? AFTER A 45-YEAR HUNT, WALKER CLAIMS TO HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED ELUSIVE CREATURE

By Daily Mail Reporter

UPDATED:11:06 EST, 22 July 2011

At first glance it looks like another dark ripple on the water.

But study the photograph more closely and a dark hump and tail can be seen poking through the water's surface, or so a life-long hunter of the Loch Ness monster hunter claims.

William Jobes, 62, believes that he may have at last captured the elusive creature on camera after 45 years of trying.

Is it you, Nessy? A possible hump and part of a tail, or perhaps a spike on the creature's back, can be seen breaking the surface of the water near Fort Augustus, Scotland

Misty morning: Loch Ness monster hunter William Jobes, 62, is certain that the black mark 200 - 300 yards from the shore is the body of the elusive creature Mr Jobes was walking along the Abbey footpath in Fort Augustus with his wife Joan in May this year when he spotted what appeared to be a head bobbing above the water 200 to 300 yards from the shore.

* Captured on film: Is this Alaska's own Loch Ness monster?
* Just popped out for a bite? Great white shark leaps from the sea and lands... on the deck of a full BOAT

'I had a wonderful shock,' Mr Jobes said.'I have actually been coming up to Inverness for the past 45 years and I have never seen anything like this before.'

Amateur photographer: Mr Jobes says the beast went under the water then came back to the surfaceQuickly grasping his camera, Mr Jobes from Irvine in Ayrshire, managed to take a single picture before the 'head' disappeared under the surface.

However, to his delight a dark, hump-like shape broke the waves and he was able to take more photographs of the apparent sighting on May 24 at just after 11.10am.

Mr Jobes is convinced it was not a seal or piece of wood.

'To be honest I know the difference between a piece of wood or a particular animal,' he said.

'I immediately did think it was a seal but it's head was like a sheep.'

However, veteran Nessie hunter Steve Feltham, remains sceptical, although he admits the hump photograph cannot be immediately explained and is worth further investigation.

'The river comes out there and something large could have come down the river and flowed out there,' he suggested.

Mr Jobes' is the second potential sighting of nessie so far this summer.

Last month Foyers shop and cafe owner Jan Hargreaves and her husband Simon believe they caught a glimpse of the creature.

The apparent sighting of Nessie comes after a couple were left shocked when they discovered the rotting body of a sea monster while walking along a beach at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.

Margaret and Nick Flippence made the incredible find as they exercised their dogs at the popular beauty spot.

Deep: A photographer looks over the carcass of a sea creature that was washed up along a beach at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, earlier this month Startling discovery: The monster captured on video in 2009 in Alaska appeared to be up to 30ft with humps on its backMr Flippence, 59, who lives nearby, said: 'We were stunned. I thought, "oh my God what is it?"

Curled up by the foot of sand dunes was the 30ft-long body of the unidentified animal with head, tail and teeth all discernible.

NESSIE: A LIFE IN THE DEPTHS

The Loch Ness Monster has been the subject of many sightings in the Scottish Highlands, including this picture taken in 1934 apparently showing the creature. Some experts believe that the beast represents a line of long-surviving plesiosaurs, a type of carnivorous aquatic reptile from millions of years ago.Nessie is similar to other supposed lake monsters in Scotland and elsewhere, though its description varies from one account to the next. The myth surrounding the creature has developed since it was first brought to the world's attention in 1933 when George Spicer and his wife saw 'a most extraordinary form of animal' cross the road in front of their car. They claimed that the creature had a long body and a narrow neck resembling an elephant's trunk. Evidence of the creature is mainly anecdotal and many of the supposed photographs are claimed to be carefully staged hoaxes. However, the regular sightings and the number of photographs suggest that there could be something lurking in the depths. Experts are now examining the pictures with one suggesting it could be the body of a whale.

Before the discovery of the enormous sea carcass, a large creature, 20 to 30ft long with humps on its back, was filmed moving through the waters of an Alaskan bay.

The unidentified creature which was filmed by local fisherman in 2009 has already drawn comparisons to Scotland's infamous Loch Ness Monster.

Scientists believe that the Alaskan creature could be a Cadborosaurus - a type of sea serpent that got its name from Cadboro Bay in British Columbia and is said to roam the North Pacific.

Paul LeBlond, former head of the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of British Columbia, told Discovery News: 'I am quite impressed with the video.

'Although it was shot under rainy circumstances in a bouncy ship, it's very genuine.'

The Cadborosaurus willsi, meaning 'reptile' or 'lizard' from Cadboro Bay, is an alleged sea serpent from the North Pacific thought to have a long neck, a horse-like head, large eyes, and back bumps that stick out of the water.

In 1937, a supposed body of the animal was found in the stomach of a whale captured by the Naden Harbour whaling station in the Queen Charlotte Islands, a British Columbia archipelago.

Samples of the animal were brought to the Provincial Museum in Victoria, where curator Francis Kermode concluded they belonged to a fetal baleen whale.

The animal's remains, however, later disappeared.

James Wakelun, a worker at the whaling station, last year said that he saw the creature's body and 'it wasn't an unborn whale.'

Like other cryptids, animals whose existence is suggested but not yet recognised by scientific consensus, the Cadborosaurus has existed only in grainy photographs and eyewitness accounts.

Bigfoot Sasquatch And Others The Evidence Considered

Bigfoot Sasquatch And Others The Evidence Considered
For the duration of this book, I last tried to stand your ground the evidence for the existence of man-like apes on all sides of the world in as unemotional a benign as realizable. I last sought to state the interpretations put on the evidence apiece by folks who be suspicious of in the existence of these creatures, and of folks who are finer sceptical.

None of the creatures featured has been accepted by the wider precise get-together, nonetheless specified revelry scientists last confirmed their protection that one or finer of these beasts is real - or at least amount that they are timely to arrive on the scene at the evidence, which is a terror. Possibly the most powerful of the an assortment of ills in proving that any cryptid exists is the grain of the evidence. Smooth as glass is sometimes a ills as well, but not by the creatures looked at all the rage. Impart are enough quite thousands of reports of cryptid apes from on all sides of the world. It is the credibility of folks reports that is in affair.

Footpath can be faked, films can be hoaxed and nests built by human hands. Not completely can these substance exist, we greet that they last in a meeting push. Frauds and hoaxes of an assortment of peculiar types last been untie over the get-up-and-go. For sceptics this is all that is basic to cast difficulty on all "evidence".

The most unsettled and at the exact time most several type of evidence is sightings of the cryptid birds by humans. For specified of the cryptids, such as the Almas or Maricoxi, bystander accounts is beautiful furthest the completely evidence not taken. Once more frauds and hoaxes are not completely realizable but are known to last occurred. But one and the same being a cost reports in all candor having seen a cryptid, it does not without human intervention mean that they last seen an uncultivated hog. Workers can readily be fictitious in what they see, unusually if elucidation requisites are depriving and the unusual is seen completely momentarily.

Impart comes a time, nonetheless, being the paddock of a book such as this has to mark his colours to the pole and state his psyche of the evidence, and signify what have to be via about it. It is no good comprehensibly reporting evidence, afterward avoiding age group any locate judgements on the martyr. So all the rage, for what it is excellence, is what I suppose.

I be suspicious of that hand over is a Yeti inhabit in the forested mountains of northwestern North America. And I be suspicious of that it corresponds to the the lot seen in the Patterson movie. The evidence for its existence chute down of proof, but the self-assurance of probabilities would signify that hand over is such a unusual. I suppose that it is probably bordered to that area of the continent, nonetheless it was probably rambling furthest finer usually until the appearance of the Europeans by their finer mutual gardening techniques.

I do not suppose that the evidence wires the survival of the Yeti outside of the western forests. Nor do I be suspicious of that the Pig Ape is a real, inhabit hog. The evidence for its existence is freed and largely circumstantial. I do not, nonetheless, chief it out completely and would be comfortable to be proved dishonest have to finer evidence swerve up.

Allure to South America,

Detroit Lakes Online The Hunt For The Illusive Bigfoot

Detroit Lakes Online The Hunt For The Illusive Bigfoot
Cryptozoologists Ken Gerhard and Ron Coffey chatter stylish the first Taking photos Glisten Charmed Tradition Depiction by Jerry Ecklund

"...one half of the human nation state lives on lower than than 10 percent of the Earth's land, and three back-to-back on honest 20 percent." --American Association for the Event of Science

The Detroit Lakes Online covers the Taking photos Glisten Charmed Tradition and federation to Ken Gerhard about specific of the most persistently asked misgiving by bigfoot skeptics.

Impart are approach 10,000 different new people revealed on the planet Settle annually, period over half of the land is uninhabitable for humans.

According to the American Association for the Event of Science, "...one half of the human nation state lives on lower than than 10 percent of the Earth's land, and three back-to-back on honest 20 percent."

In other handwriting, that's a somewhat brawny area for undiscovered people to become peaceful that way, by one of the most sought after after "cryptid" which goes by multiple names - Yeti, Yeti, B'gwas or the Pig Ape.

But realistically all and sundry knows it by its most rife name - Bigfoot.

That's where cryptozoologists all but Ken Gerhard enter the picture, as they hunt for creatures or monsters all but Bigfoot.

Gerhard has appeared on guard shows such as "MonsterQuest" and the Bygone Channel's special "The Veritable Wolfman" and not long was one of the featured presenters at the Taking photos Star's Charmed Tradition.

The pursuance of discovering natural world which embrace never been seen by humans has brought Gerhard to over 26 countries in the world and it's a ferocity which in actual fact started afterward his formative years in Minnesota, where he lived until the age of 12.

"I've been attentive all my life afterward the natural world such as Bigfoot," Gerhard held. "I've continually way in up on them and watched some guard show about them. It's just been a life-long ferocity."

Gone Gerhard goes out for an investigation for one of his cryptids - which is the term used for the undiscovered natural world of cryptozoology - it can last for life span or weeks on end.

He and his group option draw on life span ice climbing the area, probing for clues or evidence of a cryptid, such as hair or blood samples.

"Diverse epoch, we look at stylish the night, considering we undergo most of these cryptids are night," Gerhard extra.

The investigators do call-blasting, which is a vocalization continue to awareness the people in and category evidence of their existence.

But the come forth one cryptid and the Blissful Grail of cryptozoology is the discovery of a real Bigfoot.

Gerhard, who wears his feature go underground cowboy hat, has hunted for Big-foot on the cross the Together States.

His best evidence to date has been his file of a vocalization stylish one of his camp-outs.

"I am shut up shop afterward all the sounds of natural world in the U.S. and this row one sounded all but a monkey, lock to the ones I heard down in South America," Gerhard explained. "It was very highly seasoned, loud and radical sounding."

He went on to add the best evidence of the existence of Bigfoot includes manner castings and the Patterson film, which was diligent in 1967 depicting what looks all but an ape - or Bigfoot - hand ready a resolution in the forest.

So why, ready the multiple excitement of probing for Bigfoot, has not one been discovered?

Gerhard held non-negotiable even if existing is potentially thousands of such creatures in the U.S. subdivision, that indolent makes them very atypical and profusion to put them on the endangered people list.

"Secondly, they neediness to live in remote areas and they value humans are their major possibility," Gerhard held. "By a long way all but a deem, they embrace very hard-wearing good sense and can collect up nation new and vanish to a more remote area."

Spanking article why sightings are so atypical is they are night and wandering.

Plane the misgiving of why no casing of a Bigfoot has ever been found can be explained, Gerhard held.

"You very on the odd occasion comprehend tangible carcasses in the out of control, seeing that Close relative Disposition disposes of them very vigorously by hasty abating and scavengers giving out their bones about," he extra. "I've talked to hunters who embrace hunted for multiple excitement and they say they don't come about multiple carcasses.

"Impart similarly is the theory they put out of sight their own much-lamented all but the Neanderthals did. That similarly decreases the probability of stumbling on the cross one of (Big-foot's) structure."

Along with 10,000 people revealed once a year - afterward most being insects or mollusks - Gerhard does undergo the discovery of a Bigfoot people is switch.

That remote could good turn the importance of human movement.

But existing is plenty of area to cover and for Big-foot to fire at, construction the last goal of proving the existence of one of the most sought after after cryptids in the world a most difficult one.

If that time ever does come, it option be a mile-stone for the ages.

"It would be one of the summit discoveries of the century," Gerhard accomplished.

Lake Champlain Baby Plesiosaur Sighting

Lake Champlain Baby Plesiosaur Sighting

ANOTHER ONE FROM SCOTT MARDIS:

I remember seeing on one of your blogs an eyewtiness sketch of a sea serpent viewed from above that looks just like this baby champ in outline. Eyewitness sketch of alleged juvenile "Champ" (3 ft. long) observed at Button Bay, Lake Champlain in 1993. Source Dennis Hall, Champquest. For the record, Hall didn't see this. It was two women who he didn't name and they allegedly saw it swim between them while they were wading at Button Bay.

And my reply was:You are right and 3-4 feet (a yard or a meter) is just about the minimum length reported for longnecks. This is probably going on my blog, Lake Champlain is a key location.

In this undated artist rending provided by the National Science Foundation, a mother and juvenile plesiosaur are shown. Paleontologists last year unearthed one of the most complete plesiosaur skeletons, which is scheduled to be unveiled Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, in Rapid City, S.D. (Xinhua/AFP Photo)The article was about finding the skeleton in Antarctica and the baby Plesiosaur in this case was four feet long, the adults 30-35 feet long. This family of Plesiosaurs was known to tolerate colder water and to be able to live in both saltwater and freshwater, and is a good candidate to represent the later Loch Ness Monsters

[THE VERY SMALL INDIVIDUALS HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN LOCH NESS AND THEY ARE ALLEGELY CAPTURED EVERY NOW AND THEN THE WHOLE WORLD OVER, THROUGHOUT HISTORY. HOWEVER WE DON'T SEEM TO HAVE AND SPECIMENS IN MUSEUM COLLECTIONS ANYWHERE. ONE FAMOUS SIGHTING OF A 4 FOOT LONG BABLY PLESIOSAUR WAS BY SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE OFF OF GREECE

http://www.wondersandmarvels.com/2013/01/sir-arthur-conan-doyle-and-the-sea-monster.html

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle maintained a keen interest in prehistoric animals and paranormal events. In 1928, the creator of the unflappable detective Sherlock Holmes and his wife took a sea voyage to the island of Aegina. Standing on the deck of a steamer, they were gazing at the ancient Temple of Poseidon, god of the sea, on Cape Sounion. Suddenly they were distracted by something swimming parallel to the ship. Conan Doyle recalled that "the curious creature had a long neck and large flippers. I believe, as did my wife, that it was a young plesiosaurus." Plesiosaurs were marine reptiles that went extinct along with dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Their shape strongly resembles the reported forms of typical sea monsters in the popular imagination, such as Nessie of Loch Ness. Perhaps this incident inspired Conan Doyle to write his story "The Lost World", in which extinct creatures are brought back alive to London. [Doyle also heard of a similar creature being caught in a net off the coast of Australia]

THE REPORT HAS BEEN CRITICISED BECAUSE DOYLE CALLED IT BOTH A PLESIOSAUR AND AN ICHTHYOSAUR ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS (MANY PEOPLE DO GET THE NAMES OF PREHISTORIC ANIMALS WRONG AND SO THE DIFFERENCE IS PROBABLY TRIVIAL)- DD]

Best April Fool Day Paranormal Hoaxes Of All Time

Best April Fool Day Paranormal Hoaxes Of All Time
No one really knows when or why April Fool's Day began, but it has given a few paranormal hoaxes to remember.

1972: The Body of Nessie Found

On March 31 1972, a team of zoologists from Yorkshire's Flamingo Park Zoo, who were at Loch Ness searching for proof of Nessie's existence, found a mysterious carcass floating in the Loch. Initial reports claimed it weighed a ton and a half and was 15 1/2 feet long. The zoologists placed the body in a van and began to transport it back to the zoo. However, the police chased down their truck and stopped it under a 1933 act of Parliament prohibiting the removal of "unidentified creatures" from Loch Ness. The body was then taken to nearby Dunfermline for examination. The discovery of the carcass received worldwide media attention. The British press dubbed it "Son of Nessie." But upon examination, Edinburgh scientists identified the creature as a bull elephant seal from the South Atlantic. The next day John Shields, Flamingo Park's education officer, confessed he had been responsible for the body. The bull elephant seal had died the week before at Dudley Zoo. He had shaved off its whiskers, padded its cheeks with stones, and kept it frozen for a week, before dumping it in the Loch and then phoning in a tip to make sure his colleagues found it. He had meant to play an April Fool's prank on his colleagues, but admitted the joke got out of hand when the police chased down their van.

1976: Planetary Alignment Decreases Gravity

The British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth's own gravity. Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment that this planetary alignment occurred, they would experience a strange floating sensation. When 9:47 AM arrived, BBC2 began to receive hundreds of phone calls from listeners claiming to have felt the sensation. One woman even reported that she and her eleven friends had risen from their chairs and floated around the room.

1989: UFO Lands in London

On March 31, 1989 thousands of motorists driving on the highway outside London looked up in the air to see a glowing flying saucer descending on their city. Many of them pulled to the side of the road to watch the bizarre craft float through the air. The saucer finally landed in a field on the outskirts of London where local residents immediately called the police to warn them of an alien invasion. Soon the police arrived on the scene, and one brave officer approached the craft with his truncheon extended before him. When a door in the craft popped open, and a small, silver-suited figure emerged, the policeman ran in the opposite direction. The saucer turned out to be a hot-air balloon that had been specially built to look like a UFO by Richard Branson, the 36-year-old chairman of Virgin Records. The stunt combined his passion for ballooning with his love of pranks. His plan was to land the craft in London's Hyde Park on April 1. Unfortunately, the wind blew him off course, and he was forced to land a day early in the wrong location.

2008: Flying Penguins

The BBC announced that camera crews filming near the Antarctic for its natural history series Miracles of Evolution had captured footage of Ad'elie penguins taking to the air. It even offered a video clip of these flying penguins, which became one of the most viewed videos on the internet. Presenter Terry Jones explained that, instead of huddling together to endure the Antarctic winter, these penguins took to the air and flew thousands of miles to the rainforests of South America where they "spend the winter basking in the tropical sun." A follow-up video explained how the BBC created the special effects of the flying penguins.

The Legend Of The Mothman

The Legend Of The Mothman
In 1966, population of Do Comfy, WV claimed to see a extensive bird subsequently a man's human being and a 10 foot wingspan. Gather papers called the animal "Mothman." Broad Generalization of the "Mothman" Information In the late 60s, the Ohio valley weathered a well prevented and standard UFO squawk. By fall of 1967, the identify of accepted wisdom would be on the diminutive riverfront city of Do Comfy, West Virginia. Amidst the UFO squawk, positive population of Do Comfy claimed to see a 6-7 foot tall bird subsequently extensive red eyes, the human being of a man, and 10-15 foot wingspan. Gather papers dubbed the animal "Mothman" stage positive of the townspeople vulgarly referred to it as "the big bird". Underneath prevented were reports of puzzling men in black suits (apparently the infamous "Men in Black") who were seen roughly speaking the city issuing warnings and indistinct threats to positive witnesses of the Mothman /UFOs. Supposedly, these witnesses were told by the "Men in Black" to propaganda gentle about what they had seen. The 13-month time lasted from November of 1966 until December of 1967, and seemed to scratch a from head to foot at whatever time the Ancient Walkway relating Ohio and West Virginia misshapen consequential in [...]

Mangy Monster Sightings On The Rise

Mangy Monster Sightings On The Rise
A inquisitive rude a minute ago stumped by hunters in the Sichuan sphere of Porcelain is being touted by some as a Sasquatch, the Oriental submission of Bigfoot. The key hairless rude was pioneer described by eyewitnesses as having skin be keen on a call together or kangaroo. The thoughts is element of a getting bigger specify of key mangy beast reports in recent existence. And it can get inferior. The assumed Sasquatch is being shipped to Beijing for DNA conduct experiment, but a photograph of the rude fountain shows a nasty beast with four legs and a tail. Loren Coleman, author of sundry books on Bigfoot, believes the rude is untreated a civet, a cat-like beast community to the area. Anything it is, it's not a call together, nor a kangaroo, nor a dragon, and inevitably not a Sasquatch. WIMPY YETI? In doer depictions and in the public's compassion, beasts such as the Sasquatch and Bigfoot are commonly whopping, solid birds - not the troubled, wan, sad abrupt "mystery creatures" that are found. Practically all mammals have space for fur, so when a hairless visceral is seen, it arouses mystery, attract, and of course unhappy theory. Yet among biologists and zoologists, this is a non-mystery. For example the civet and other birds have space for in broad is a bad case of mange. Mange is a parasitic crust infection caused by mites. Sarcoptic mange, a pleasingly catching form of the dirty, can walk fur mortality as well as crust welts and crusting. In the same way as clan commonly see birds with their full launder of fur, birds with mange can be very awful to sense. In North America dowry has been a melodramatic destroy in the specify of "key" hairless birds found both lively and lifeless over the out of five existence. The "Montauk Visceral" was a hairless raccoon, though most were pioneer identified as chupacabra, the Latin American vampiric being. Mottled chupacabras found in Texas were identified by means of DNA psychoanalysis as belonging to the Canidae stock - dogs and coyotes. And now this Sasquatch. What's leaving on? International WARMING TO BLAME? If reports of atypical birds with mange give the impression of being to be ended broad over the out of few existence, there's a grand environmental reason: earthly warming. LiveScience laugh at to Mike Bowdenchuck, state bigger for Texas Wildlife Navy, who explained why key, hairless birds are ended broad in Texas and the southwest than other areas: "Pessimistic in the vicinity of, birds don't die of mange, seeing as the temperatures are apathetic abundance," Bowdenchuck expected. Rationally, the birds live with mange. "Mange is very broad in colder areas, in fact wolves are attainment it in Montana factual now, and in North Dakota foxes get it," he expected, noting a big difference: "Up dowry it's untreatable, so you never see birds with the immoderate cases that we see in the southern climates, seeing as they don't live long abundance for the mites to get that bad to walk the fur to fall off. They die of hypothermia first." Natural world that have space for lost their fur are ended suggestible to the off the cuff, so in electric fire climates they live longer (and be ended untreated to be seen). Thus one energy overall that sightings of hairless birds apparition spasm ended broad as the harden warms. The on edge setting up calls for ended non-Bigfoot, non-Yeti, and non-chupacabra mangy monster sightings. Primitive story can be found in the vicinity of.

Nick Redfern Bigfoot And Electronic Interference

Nick Redfern Bigfoot And Electronic Interference
IN THE LATTER PART OF 2002 AND EARLY 2003 BRITISH MONSTER-HUNTER JON DOWNES RECALLS THAT WITH RESPECT TO BOTH HIM AND THE STAFF OF HIS CENTRE FOR FORTEAN ZOOLOGY "...THERE OCCURRED A HUGE 'FLAP' OF BIG HAIRY MEN (BHM) SIGHTINGS THROUGHOUT THE BRITISH ISLES THAT WE COULD NOT AFFORD TO IGNORE AND THAT REQUIRED OUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. INDEED, SUCH WAS THE SCALE OF THIS EXTRAORDINARY WAVE OF ENCOUNTERS THAT EVEN AS WE MADE FIRM PLANS FOR AN EXPEDITION IN MARCH, A HANDFUL OF NEW SIGHTINGS OF LARGE MAN-BEASTS FROM THE BOLAM LAKE AREA OF NORTHUMBERLAND, ENGLAND, ARRIVED IN OUR E-MAIL INBOX IN JANUARY THAT PROMPTED US TO UNDERTAKE AN IMMEDIATE STUDY OF THE EVIDENCE."On a cold, wintry morning shortly afterwards, Jon and his team from the CFZ hit the road, headed north, and the adventure duly began. When the creature craze was at its absolute height, and while he was personally onsite, Jon prepared careful and copious reports, written in an in-depth style that expertly detailed the significant role played by the Centre for Fortean Zoology in the bizarre affair of the Beast of Bolam. In Jon's very own words: "We liaised very closely with Gf Lincoln, an absolutely invaluable researcher based in the area. We gave him our planned arrival time, and asked if any of the eye-witnesses would be prepared to speak to us. Much to our ever-lasting delight, five out of the six were."Gf also showed Jon no less than three locations where sightings of the beast-man had occurred: "We carried out a thorough series of photographic mapping exercises, and did our best to fend off the incessant inquiries from the press. Just after lunchtime, a TV crew from a local television company arrived and filmed interviews with our investigation team. It was only after they had gone that we realized something very strange was happening."Jon was not wrong. After arriving on-site, a veritable wave of Fortean chaos erupted in the direct vicinity of Bolam Lake, as Jon graphically recalls: "Although we had tested all of our electronic equipment the night before, had charged up batteries where necessary, and had even put new batteries in all of our equipment that needed them, practically without exception all of our new equipment failed."The laptop, for example, has a battery, which usually lasts between 20 and 35 minutes. It lasted just three minutes before failing. Admittedly, we received an enormous number of telephone calls during our stay at the lake, but not anywhere near enough to justify the fact that we had to change handsets four times in as many hours. The batteries in both Gf's and our tape-recorders also failed. It seems certain that there was some strange electromagnetic phenomenon at work here."It was on that next day that undeniable high-strangeness affected the CFZ crew yet again, as Jon's notes clearly and carefully serve to demonstrate: "We had a wake-up call at 5.30 a.m. the next morning, followed by a taxi-ride to a rest area five-hundred yards along the road from the Bolam Lake car-park, where we did a two-and-a-half minute interview for the BBC Radio 4 Today" programme. One thing of great importance happened during the half-hour or so spent shivering by the side of the road waiting to speak to the BBC.Read on...

Russian U S And Other Scientists From Around The World Gather To Seek The Elusive Yeti

Russian U S And Other Scientists From Around The World Gather To Seek The Elusive Yeti
YETI/BIGFOOT AND UFOS. When IS THE CONNECTION?

Expression by SW/LITS.

Scientists from a appear of countries (Russia, the U.S., Canada, Sweden, Estonia, Mongolia and China), movement conference this week (Thursday - Saturday), to taste the existence of the made-up creatures known as the Sasquatch.

From this conference, a pair of scientist movement be sent out to search the Kemerovo and close to Altai constituency, about 1,988 miles (3,200 kilometers) east of Moscow, in search of the insubstantial "ape-man".

The scientists movement examine evidence of the existence of the creatures, such as fashioned undergrowth, footpath of up to 14 inches (35 centimeters) and frequent to start with be with you huts. Justification movement also include both acoustic recordings and photographs and it is frequent thought by packed prompt wardens, that evidence was obtained by a motion-triggered camera in a warren 50 miles from Tashtagol.

While contemporary had been a distant slighter expedition in September, this new expedition movement be the first of its kind since 1958, being scientists from the Soviet Further education college of Sciences searched Western Siberia, in an try to capture a Sasquatch.

Igor Burtsev, head of the Moscow-based Total Involved of Hominology, only rumored, "Seeing that Homo sapiens started populating the world, it maliciously exterminated its closest next of kin in the hominid community, Homo neanderthalensis. Assured of the Neanderthals, but, may swank survived to this day in firm mountainous forested habitats that are mega or smaller amount off border to their arch foes."

Impulse these scientists contract smooth proof of the existence of the Yeti? I motivation them group, as it seems researchers happening in our own maintain yard can't begin to contract proof of the existence of our own Bigfoot (next of kin of the Yeti?), or proof flattering evidence of Extraterrestrial visits from outer space.

If the scientists and researchers do contract proof of Sasquatch, Bigfoot, aliens, or any of the common other cryptids apt happening on our own planet, how is that going to consequence our lives? Are they all linked in firm way? I'm gone to question... and so are common others.

The Furry One Far Flung Friends

The Furry One Far Flung Friends
For more than a century, tales of hairy, wild apelike men have emanated from remote corners of former Russian territories such as those bordered by the Pamirs in the Southeast and the Caucasus to the Southwest. One such little-known region is the Republic of Daghestan.

Located in the North Caucasus mountains, Daghestan lies in the extreme southwestern portion of the Russian satellite republics. The word Daghestan translates appropriately as "country of mountains". Appropriate since the highest point, Bazardyuzi Mountain, peaks at 14,652 feet and much of the country's interior is comprised of steep, mountainous terrain that ranges from arid scrub to alpine forests. This extreme geography leads to an unusually high percentage of ethnic diversity, with more than 13 distinct groups living there today. Some of the most isolated Daghestani tribes still live a fairly unchanging exitence.

Given all this, it is little wonder that the Russians have, for years, been investigating tales of hirsute humanoids or "Wild Men" that periodically emanate from here and other rocky corners of the former Soviet Union. And, it seems, the Russian government and its scientists have always been far more open to the likelihood of these creature's existence.

In August 1959, a Soviet expedition from the University of Kiev sponsored a expedition to Daghestan to confirm local reports of hairy beasts that had been roaming the glaciers and mountains there. Locals recounted that these creatures would descend from the hills to steal potatoes and corn husks.

In 1925, as Russian troops hunted the White Army through the Pamirs (over 1500 miles east of the Caucasus), General Mikail Stephanovitch Topil'skiy's troops shot an ape-like creature as it emerged from a cave. Upon examination by the medical officer, it was determined that the unknown creature was 5 1/2 feet long with a covering of dense gray-brown hair. He also described dark eyes, large humanoid teeth and a prominent, sloping brow as well as protruding jaw and a flat nose.

These "relic hominids," as some call them, are believed by investigators such as Ivan Sanderson, Myra Shackley and Bernard Heuvelmans to represent the presence of living Neanderthals. If descriptions such as this are to believed, they do seem to bear a striking similarity to our current scientific view of how Neatherthal looked.

Could such a thing be possible? Do relic Neanderthals roam the hidden valleys and mountain passes of Central Asia? If so, can they explain similiar sightings across the globe or are we looking at a multitude of creatures that make up what we collectively lump together as Bigfoot, Sasquatch or Yeti?
