Sarah Brightman Space Is Singer Sarah Brightman The Next Space Tourist

Sarah Brightman Space Is Singer Sarah Brightman The Next Space Tourist
Sarah Brightman Space: Is Singer Sarah Brightman the Next Space Tourist?
Famed classical singer Sarah Brightman could be the next tourist to visit space as a paying passenger, ABC News is reporting.

The singer may have paid more than 51 million to the Russian Federal Space Agency for a seat on a spacecraft bound for the International Space Station, according to ABC News.

Space Adventures, the Virginia-based firm reportedly brokering the deal, has not confirmed that Brightman will be flying in space. However, company officials said Brightman would make a "groundbreaking announcement" during a press conference in Moscow Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. Moscow time (8 a.m. EDT).

Space Adventures has arranged the trips of the seven other space tourists who've flown to the space station on Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

Brightman, who gained fame starring in the original Broadway production of "Phantom of the Opera," will reportedly make her 10-day trip to low-Earth orbit in 2014 or 2015, according to ABC News.

With NASA's space shuttles now retired, Russian Soyuz spacecraft are the only vehicles currently able to carry people to the space station. As a result, open seats available for tourists have been scarce in recent years.

Cryptozoology No Need For An Apology

Cryptozoology No Need For An Apology

All forms of science are reliant on facts, hard evidence and statistics to maintain relevance and credibility. But what of the legitimacy of the so-called "pseudosciences"?A warning: I'm going to pick on cryptozoology here - the study of hidden, extinct or mythical creatures.Creatures dear to the cryptozoologist's heart include: the kraken, ogopogo, Nessie, the chupacabra, yowies, mermaids, orang pendek, and the coolest of them all, the Mongolian Death Worm. If you're interested in these and others, Wikipedia will keep you busy for hours.Despite the (lack of) plausibility, one of the main criticisms levelled at scientists is that we won't investigate cryptozoologists' claims. As Australian cryptozoologist Rex Gilroy said:Go and search for the evidence rather than be critical. I have struck a lot academic criticism over the years by people who stick to a textbook and who are glued to their office desk. Why not go and search?I can already hear the dull chanting of Carl Sagan's "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". But this is "not" why we don't investigate strange ideas.

TO PUBLISH OR NOT TO PUBLISH

Scientists consider strange ideas all the time. Indeed, we make up most of them. If we lived by Sagan's mantra, scientific inquiry would never happen. The reason research is not done on extraordinary claims is quite simple: "publish or perish".Let me explain. If you want to be a professional scientist, you need to do science. This means formulating questions to answer, doing the research, and then, publishing the work. Why do researchers publish their work? Alma SwanClick to enlargeAs you can imagine, doing research costs money. This means going on bended knee to those holding the purse strings. They evaluate your project and your ability - that is, your published research - to carry out the project. It is basically a catch-22 situation. Without a good publishing history, you will likely not get funded. But you can't do much research without the funding. And around we go.Hence the phrase, publish or perish. You would think then that making a big discovery would be great for a scientific career. It absolutely is!No scientist, ever, would turn down discovering a new species, especially something such as Bigfoot. It would be an instant publication in a major journal, and research funding would flow like the Amazon River. As such, scientists are not shying away from strange claims because they don't want to make discoveries. They shy away because of the plausibility and probability of making the discovery.Let's take Bigfoot as an example.Bigfoot, a 500-kilo bipedal primate standing 3.0 metres, is biologically possible. Other than the bipedal locomotion, a primate from South-eastern Asia, gigantopithecus, would have fit the bill - if it hadn't gone extinct 100,000 years ago.But given biogeography and population biology, such a species is not plausible.Bigfoot's biggest bunions are his biggest supporters, the Bigfoot hunters. Sightings of the creature have come from all over North America.Bigfoot sightings in Northern America - seems like you can't go outside without running into him. Mangani's Bigfoot MapsClick to enlargeYet any species with a huge distribution would consist of a large number of individuals, and therefore, we would have plenty of physical evidence.Proponents justify this lack of evidence by claiming Bigfoot is low in numbers, and they bury their dead, and...Whoa Nelly! You're telling me in a country where there are 88 guns for every 100 peopleno one has shot and recovered the body.Until 2009, there were no sightings of pygmy hippos in all of Australia, nevertheless a NT hunter managed to shoot one.You can't have it both ways. The Bigfoot population cannot stretch across North America enabling sightings every other Tuesday, "and" be in such low numbers that solid evidence never materialises. In Bigfoot's case, scientists don't look because he is simply not plausible.

DEALING WITH CLAIMS

Not all claims are in this canoe though. If tomorrow's newspaper headline was: "Panther found in Australia", I wouldn't be surprised.Wildlife trafficking is one of the three largest crimes in the world and large cats are certainly on the price list. If you do a search of "exotic" animals in Australia, you quickly realise Australia is not immune from the industry.Regardless of whether animals are being kept legally or illegally, escapes can and do happen. In 2008, a 1.5 metre alligator was found in Pambula, on the south coast of New South Wales.Though a big cat living in Australia is as plausible as a hippo or alligator, to commit research time and funding to finding it is too much of a gamble. If one could be found, great! But what if nothing is found? Years could pass without finding a thing - and that translates to not publishing a thing. And for a scientist, that's game over.Cryptozoologists shouldn't be too concerned. Scientists are doing research all over Australia: if strange critters are out there, they will be detected incidentally. The 'rediscovered' yellow-spotted bell frog in NSW.At the end of the day, it's encouraging that passionate, amateur zoologists are out looking for animals. I, for one, would rather they look for Bigfoot than sit at home watching Big Brother. And if they find solid evidence, a scientist will always be keen to have a look. When it comes to scientists conducting research, it boils down to a simple calculation that everyone recognises:"What do we spend our finite resources on?"Odd animals may exist, but there are certainly many that need our attention now. And in the meantime, let's see what else we come across.FURTHER READING:

The Battle Of L A Ufo 1942

The Battle Of L A Ufo 1942
SUMMARY: It is very rare that among the annals of Ufology there should appear a UFO case which involved military, yet is accompanied with actual photographic proof. Such is the case of an event which took place over the Los Angeles area on February 25, 1942. A giant UFO would actually hover over the city, and be witnessed by hundreds of observers. PEARL HARBOR SCARE: As America was gathering its senses after the shocking attack on Pearl Harbor in December, 1941, there was a heightened feeling of insecurity and anxiousness. The skies were being watched as never before as a giant UFO moved through California, alerting the military and civilian watchers as well. This case is known as the "Battle of Los Angeles," and is one of the most important cases in Ufology. SURREAL SIGHT: It would be early morning on February 2, 1942 when the incoming craft sirens were first heard in the Los Angeles area. Many Americans were expecting another wave of Japanese fighter planes, and thought this is what they would see as they left their homes, and ventured outside. How wrong they were! The first sightings of a large UFO would be made in Culver City, and Santa Monica. "(MOUSE OVER = MAGNIFY + MOUSE WHEEL = ZOOM)" jQuery(document).ready(function () { (function(){ ('.magny2').magny(); })(jQuery); }); A TOTAL BLACKOUT: Air Raid Wardens were ready to go at the first hint of an invasion. But, this invasion would be something other than Japanese planes. The giant hovering object was soon lit up by the gigantic spotlights of the Army's 37th Coast Artillery Brigade. Everyone who looked up was shocked by the sight of the giant UFO sitting above their city. Military aircraft were sent to confront the object. UFO TAKES DIRECT HITS: Because of a well-organized alert system, the whole California southern section was searching the night skies in a matter of minutes. What they saw were beaming searchlights illuminating the night sky, all of them converging on one thing-a UFO. A similar scene would be repeated later during the The Norwood Searchlight Incident albeit, on a smaller scale. The beams of light would soon be accompanied by tracer fire from anti-aircraft artillery, all of the rounds aiming at the invading craft. The giant UFO would take direct hit after hit, yet without damage. HANGING MAGIC LANTERN: The 37th Brigade was relentless in its attempt to bring down the large object, but found no success. The barrage of spent shells would fall over the entire area-no place was safe this night. Many were injured, and there were even reports of death from the falling shells. According to newspaper reports, eyewitnesses described the sight of the UFO like a "surreal, hanging, magic lantern." CLASSIC PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN: As the large UFO moved into more lighted areas, view of the object became better. It moved directly over the MGM studios in Culver City. Fortunately, an extremely good quality photograph was taken of the object-beams attached, tracer fire visible. This photograph has become a classic UFO photograph. The UFO would soon move over Long Beach before disappearing altogether. WOMAN AIR RAID WARDEN GIVES TESTIMONY: Woman Air Raid Warden Gives Testimony: "It was huge! It was just enormous! And it was practically right over my house. I had never seen anything like it in my life!" she said."It was just hovering there in the sky and hardly moving at all. It was a lovely pale orange and about the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. I could see it perfectly because it was very close. It was big!" MORE EYEWITNESS TESTIMONY: "They sent fighter planes up and I watched them in groups approach it and then turn away. There were shooting at it but it didn't seem to matter."It was like the Fourth of July but much louder. They were firing like crazy but they couldn't touch it."I'll never forget what a magnificent sight it was. Just marvelous. And what a gorgeous color!" she said THE GUNS FALL SILENT: The giant invading airship was now gone, and the citizenry of the southern California area began to resume normal activities. This was an extremely important event-one that will not be forgotten.Only the news of the war kept this from becoming a major news event. This case must have been in the mind of President Ronald Reagan when he warned us of an "alien threat, from outside of our world."Are we ready?

Can Extraterrestrial Civilizations Be Found By Their City Lights

Can Extraterrestrial Civilizations Be Found By Their City Lights
ScienceDaily - In the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, astronomers have hunted for radio signals and ultra-short laser pulses. In a new paper, Avi Loeb (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics) and Edwin Turner (Princeton University) suggest a new technique for finding aliens: look for their city lights. "Looking for alien cities would be a long shot, but wouldn't require extra resources. And if we succeed, it would change our perception of our place in the universe," said Loeb.As with other SETI methods, they rely on the assumption that aliens would use Earth-like technologies. This is reasonable because any intelligent life that evolved in the light from its nearest star is likely to have artificial illumination that switches on during the hours of darkness. How easy would it be to spot a city on a distant planet? Clearly, this light will have to be distinguished from the glare from the parent star. Loeb and Turner suggest looking at the change in light from an exoplanet as it moves around its star.As the planet orbits, it goes through phases similar to those of the Moon. When it's in a dark phase, more artificial light from the night side would be visible from Earth than reflected light from the day side. So the total flux from a planet with city lighting will vary in a way that is measurably different from a planet that has no artificial lights.Spotting this tiny signal would require future generations of telescopes. However, the technique could be tested closer to home, using objects at the edge of our solar system.... "Keep on reading..."

The Truth About Google Ufo Logo Updated

The Truth About Google Ufo Logo Updated
I am a Christian. I believe the bible when it says that satan is the ultimate deceiver and that he spends every minute of every day attempting to delude us into believing an alternate gospel, into believing God does not exist, into believing that we are our own 'gods.' I believe that satan works his conspiracies against us, that he has heavenly hosts at his beck and call who work signs and wonders to deceive the unsaved and attempts to deceive the saved. THAT is the conspiracy- satan. He conspires constantly. One of satan's lies is that UFOs are ships driven by aliens from another world. Satan's lie is that aliens are arriving in dribbles and will soon arrive en masse with incredible technology that will help us rise from poverty and religion and hate to attain a one-ness of spirituality that accepts all religions as valid. Aliens are real, all right, and alien abductions are real, they are simply not what most people think they are. Aliens are the rulers of the dark world, powers, and principalities and our struggle is not against people but against these rulers of the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. [Ephesians 6:12]Since we are in the end time, satan's deceptions are growing more pervasive. One of these deceptions is to prepare the world for an event satan knows is coming and which really has no logical explanation: the Rapture. This is an event which will occur suddenly at a timing known only to Father God, whereupon Jesus will blow the trumpet and call His children to Him. We will rise in the air to meet Him, disappearing from the world in a twinkling of an eye. This visible event will touch almost everyone in the world and poses a problem to satan: How can the global disappearance of millions all at once be explained away? Everyone will know it happened. Everyone will be affected.Satan, being clever and crafty, has come up with a way to deny the truth and explain the disappearances: Aliens took them. Now, a theory like that is not believable all at once, so satan, being clever and crafty, has slowly been preparing the world to accept the 'fact' of aliens for decades. It began in 1947 in Roswell, NM, and has continued to 1961 with the Betty and Barney Hill abduction story, then the movie in 1975, until this very day with books, conventions, talks, even more sophisticated movies with technical effects, "UFO" sightings, until now, where we have the logo that prompted today's blog entry: Google.Google is showing us a UFO lifting part of its own name into the sky. Am I making a mountain out of a molehill? If I am then the rest of the world is too: this logo has become the number one google discussion trend and is currently listed as "volcanic." The title of the trend is listed as "unexplained phenomenon."The title is incorrect of course, because aliens are explained. I am explaining the truth of them to you now, as are Mike Mickey, Terry James, Jack Kelley, Chuck Missler, and many others. Now, prior to 1947 and the Roswell incident, the few people here and there who claimed they saw a UFO or were abducted by an alien were likely locked up as loony. In the absence of worldwide communications and rapid social networking, pooh-poohing the alien idea among discrete groups and small communities was easy and commonly accomplished. What this means is, in only 60 years UFO phenomena has become so ubiquitous that it is embedded in the logo of the world's most popular internet page.A quarter of the earth's people use the internet. There are half a billion internet users in China and the US alone. More than half of all internet users use Google as their primary search engine. Pretty good (bad) work getting this UFO alien abduction idea in front of people's noses, if you ask me.Do not be deceived. The Lord will blow the last trump and those both dead and alive who are saved by the blood of Christ will rise. We will rise not to alien spacecraft, but to the arms of a waiting and smiling savior Who has prepared a place for us to dwell with Him, forever. Consider the notion that "the coming cosmic deception" as Chuck Missler terms it, is real and imminent. So is the the truth of the rapture. Which will you choose to be a part of? To learn more about Jesus, go here. If you choose to accept His saving grace, your eyes will be opened and you will know true joy and love. And true joy and love in Jesus is much better than relying on the false hope of six-legged aliens.

The Flying Saucer From Mars And Cda

The Flying Saucer From Mars And Cda
Repeal in the day I scrutiny that this book by "Cedric Allingham" corroborated the Adamski alien contacts and story:

Acquaint with are the Adamski-like photos that Allingham by all accounts took of a flying saucer that apparently came fro Mars:

But the story was a hoax, concocted, for evident peculiar box, by commanding and credentialed British astronomer, Patrick Moore:

And who was the critic who unmasked the hoaxer and the made known the hoax? Our fondness unenthusiastic philosopher, Christopher Allen, set wearing and in the UFO family as CDA.

Clap wearing for the story

CDA has regard behind us and behind group who go for clear scrutiny, fearless argumentation, and agnosticism in its majestic and best texture.

So similar to you entr his annotations wearing and dated, bind a moment to predict his bent of common sense and research taste.

Interview With Bob Dean

Interview With Bob Dean
source: consciousmedianetwork Bob Dean is a retired Gossip Sergeant Make in the US Armed forces, who became participate in UFOlogy circles after he claimed to keep in check viewed "Immense Top Hidden" documents detailing alien activity on Property. He now lectures in ufology encompassing the world and has been described as 'an patronizing statesman of the UFO indigenous. Bob tells a story that skill-fully presents an allure and stanch message: that we are not nowhere to be found on this planet and never keep in check been.Propelled upon a examination to amount his discovery of a fondly classified document he came upon in the field of his military affair, he has continued his list to inform the official about extraterrestrial life and our government's connection. One of the few holders of first-hand kind about government round about along with alien life, Mr. Dean recounts the contents of the 1964 report called "an Analyze," the NATO military re-examine that familiar and analyzed the implications of the alien vision dressed in on Property.
