A New Menu Item Open Minds With Disinformation Filling
Have we uncovered another potential menu item for Caryn Anscomb's Disclosure Deli?Question of the Day: Is Bren Burton, owner and a co-administrator of OpenMinds Forum.com becoming an (unwitting) agent of disinformation?Burton describes Open Minds Forum as a "research, reporting and discussion on-line organisation with an overseeing partnership of six international 'UFO/ET Disclosure' non-invested researchers. By day, Dr's, Business Consultants, Theologists, Social Workers and other professionals."OK, so far no problem. Forums are great places to entertain all kinds of fringe interests, including tales of the government's real-life X-Files.Recently Mr. Burton moved from forum administrator to journalist, by posting a few stories with the on-line news organization American Chronicle, thus guaranteeing placement in the Google News search rankings. In a story titled, "Alien 'visitor' shot at Area 51? Astonishing new UFO disclosures," Mr. Burton moves one step closer to becoming an unwitting disinformation operative, beginning with:"I have recently discovered (through an insider contact) an intriguing release from a genuine DIA (Defence Intelligence Agency) which details an account of a 'shooting' of an "alien visitor" supposedly detained at the top secret establishment Area 51, Groom Lake, Nevada - known in ufological circles as 'Dream Land'."Exactly what/who is a "genuine DIA" and what release is being referred to? Is the "insider contact" a source?Details, please!Yes, it's true, to quote Mr. Burton: There are "current and ex military, air-force, CIA operatives and civilian Dr's and scientists from the field of medicine and science" exchanging information on all kinds of bizarre and unbelievable tales. It's also true that "STARstream Research" has obtained CV's documenting years of government service, proposals for research funding, and other details of relatively down to earth projects, official CIA-released documentation on the U.S. government's psychic spy programs known as STAR GATE, tens of thousands of pages of email exchanges, and some fairly incriminating statements (mostly e-documents) from a handful of well-placed individuals. It's also true that when we inquired about these contacts, some with individuals in sensitive government positions (meaning TOP SECRET clearance and above, i.e. special compartmentalized programs) a Special Agent of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) replied:"Please call me if with your concerns on this issue. You are correct in that there are some guidelines that must be followed for contact but, I am not comfortable detailing those here."Mr. Burton begins with a mild disclaimer, writing:"Now at first glance this sounds preposterous."We couldn't agree more! But wait -- is it possible there is really more going on here than a tale being spread by an insider rumor-network? Could someone be waging a viral disinformation campaign, for purposes unknown?Mr. Burton claims to have multiple independent sources for this information:"However, it appears that other ex-AFOSI (Air Force Office of Special Intelligence) officers have come forward to confirm the incident as being genuine... The AFOSI insiders, real people - Capt Robert Collins and Officer Richard Doty are rumoured to be members of the shadowy UFO Disclosure group known as 'The Aviary'."It appears that Mr. Burton has become the publicity agent for another bird-brained tale of extraterrestrial intrigue, and this time, it's murder! This certainly trumps the dramatic impact the previous Internet rumor machine touting SERPO: a human extraterrestrial exchange program.Mr. Burton concludes that disclosure of the truth behind alien visitation is near, writing:"Does this mean we are soon to be hearing these accounts in the mainstream media? From all accounts, the answer is a most definite 'YES'. A groundbreaking article is currently in progress by a well known mainstream newspaper reporter / author. Later this year, or early next year a major documentary is expected to be released in the cinemas and networks ( ala Fahrenheit 911) which details the type of incidents and investigations undertaken by AFOSI in the latter 20th century."We assume that Mr. Burton is referring to the on-going investigation by Gus Russo, a highly respected veteran investigator, and the documentary film Miragemen, currently under production. It's time to step away from the disclosure precipice, take a deep breath, and survey the landscape surrounding the AVIARY fiasco. True believers should take note of the documented fact that Ed May, senior STAR GATE scientist, once referred to the belief in extraterrestrials (and remote viewing of alien bases in our solar system!) by the military as the INSCOM fiasco. Is history repeating itself?Mr. Burton is more than welcome to respond to this post. We look forward to his comments!
