A UFO has been spotted in Crewe sparking debate as to whether the town has been visited by extra terrestrials.

"We are trying hard to attract people into Crewe for events, meetings and conferences using the great facilities in the town and I can only assume that our message has got out well beyond the solar system.
"It was a surprise to receive the image of what looks like the classic flying saucer hovering over the clock tower.
"We need independent verification of course, but alien spotting may now compliment train spotting as a leisure activity."
While some people on social media remain open to the possibility of being visited by alien life, it seems not everyone is impressed.
And some even have their own, more plausible, theories.
Jason Griffiths said: "It IS the reflection of a light fitting on the glass of a window in Delemere House.
"The photo was initially taken to capture the amazingly stupid actions by the person on top of the clock tower attempting to clean the flag pole."

My partner and I were at home,watching youths playing football on a busy road junction in front of the house, when she said 'what's that?' I looked up to see the object travelling a level course right to left (South to North)at approximately 20 degrees above the horizon. My first thought was it could be a Microlight aircraft but it seemed to rotate as it flew. It stopped in mid air holding stationary at the same position. At this point I got my camera from a downstairs room and took a photo from the front garden of my house. It took approximately fifteen seconds to get the camera and take the first photo. Within a few seconds I took a second photo by that time the object had turned away from me and travelled Eastward. It then climbed to an elevation of approx. 30 degrees travelling East North East. At this point we could not see it with the naked eye, so I took a third photo regardless of that fact, including a building and roadside lamp standards for reference. I took a further two photos within the next thirty seconds( then I took three photos of a Goldfinch that had landed in a tree close by) finally taking my last UFO photo (photo six) within the following thirty seconds. The object is purple in colour and seems to have a 'hull' or fuselage with 'wings' that appear to have dihedral. It also has four other 'wing' or 'plane' like protrusions which seemed to move up and down(I have enlarged first two photos) When I downloaded the set onto my computer, I realised I had captured side view and rear view of what turns out to be the first object. A second object appears in the fifth photo. There are also two other objects down to the right, one of which appears to be a dark 'orb' shape over the street light.Our feelings were purely of curiosity.

The discovery of the germs is fueling speculation that life may exist such as Mars, Jupiters moon Europa, and Saturns moon Enceladus, according to New Scientist.
"Lake Vida is a model of what happens when you try to freeze a lake solid, and this is the same fate that any lakes on Mars would have gone through as the planet turned colder from a watery past," Dr. Peter Doran, professor of earth and environmental sciences at the University of Illinois in Chicago and co-leader of a team working in the area, told the magazine. "Any Martian water bodies that did form would have gone through this Vida stage before freezing solid, entombing the evidence of the past ecosystem."
The lake had remained undisturbed until experts from Nevadas Desert Research Institute drilled through its protective 50-foot-thick sheet of ice to collect core samples, according to USA Today. The samples were collected in 2005 and then again in 2010....
