It was not showing up on FAA radar, which Gregor said could mean it is a small, non-metallic object. Gregor said he has been getting calls about the object all afternoon, but likely will not be able to actually confirm the object's origins.

National Weather Service officials said that the object is not one of the agency's weather balloons...."Long time sky-watcher (and eyewitness to the original huge craft that flew over the southwestern United States [AKA Phoenix Lights] 12 years ago) TJ, from New River was able to photograph the object; he in turn shared it with good and friend and colleague Mike Fortson who passed it along to The UFO Chronicles; the image of course confirms the FAA's speculations.

B. Negative #2: Deplicting cylinder shaped unidentified aerial object in upper left portion of photo. Film found to be unaltered. Film showed object to be consistent with field depth and consistent with relative size of fixed objects. Conclusion: Legitimate negative of unidentified aerial object. Bolton/Reinfeld method did not reveal visible markings on object.
C. Negative #3: Deplicting irregular shaped unidentified aerial object in seven frames of 8MM film. Because of the size and apparent speed of object no further classification or conclusion could be drawn. Film shown to be unaltered.
D. 34 inches of 8MM film: Deplicting apparent colored object moving in front of still camera. Film found to be unaltered. Spectrography
revealed colors to be basic prism features. Depth analysis revealed object to be within 152MM of camera. Object was not consistent with relative size of fixed objects observed for several seconds in film.
Conclusion: inconclusive.
E. Original Negative Deplicting Unidentified Object: Film found to be unaltered. Because of a lack of fixed objects in the film, no depth analysis could be performed. Bolton, Reinfeld method revealed object to be saucer shaped, approximate diameter 37 feet. Object contained a
trilateral insignia on the lower portion of object. Conclusion:
Legitimate negative of unidentified aerial object.

The Direcci'on General de Aeronautica Civil (DGAC - General Office of Civil Aeronautics), launched a website on Wednesday that presents cases, videos and reports that demonstrates the existence of unidentified flying objects not only in Chile, but around the world.

CEFAA has been operating since 1997 as a result of the repeated instances of these phenomena in airports and sightings by pilots and other individuals. Thus, in cooperation with the Air Force, private and internal investigators, PDI staff, universities and scientists have managed to ascertain the existence of at least 24 cases that can be classified as UFOs.

Meanwhile, their mission consists in compiling and studying all relevant background information and contributing in this way to the safety of air operations. Pilots are instructed as to how they should react when faced with manifestations of this phenomena [bold in the original-SC]

"The UFO phenomenon is real," stated Ricardo Berm'udez, CEFAA's director, "and it is something that takes place worldwide." Another of the goals of this organization is to make instances of these events known to the public at large.

The www.cefaa.gob.cl website shall be in operation as from Thursday at 08:30 hours, offering visual eyewitness reports in Chile and around the world involving unidentified flying objects in our skies, such as the photo taken at the Ovalle airport in November 2009.
